How long will it take to receive my order(s)?
You should receive your order in 3 weeks or less for an order shipping from Africa and in 2 weeks or less for all other orders.
Orders made from the US and Canada usually get to your customers within 1 week.
Please be mindful of the fact that most of our vendors do not have the fulfillment capacity of large corporations but are all committed to providing youwith an amazing customer experience.
Do you accept orders from all over the world?
Yes and this is made with your own convenience in mind. By creating (or using) an account during the purchasing process you will have 3 things made so much easier for yourself: - keeping track of your order's delivery status - changing or canceling the order - using your previous purchase history to become eligible for a Loyal Customer's discount.

What Can I sell on the marketplace?
We are one of a kind marketplace where buyers come to purchase ethnic, modern and eclectic items that they might not find elsewhere. Everything listed for sale on our site must use visible ethnic patterns, designs and/or shape.
Your items can be handmade or manufactured but the quality has to be guaranteed by you the seller. THIS IS OUR ETHNIC, MODERN AND ECLECTIC RULE. ( Ethnic, modern and eclectic means that are your items belongs to a non-Western cultural tradition and generally non-mainstream.
You are free to use popular or traditional styles and designs as long as you keep an ethnic flavor that makes your pieces unique and original.
Accepted African Inspired and Ethnic products include but are not limited to;
- Personal care (Oils, baby products, soaps,shea butter, ect..)
- Toys (Dolls, teddy bears, cars,ect..)
- Home decor (Pillow cases,arts,crafts,carved items,ect..)
- Kitchen essentials (cups,plates,bowls,ect..)
Do you take a percentage of each sale?
Yes, the marketplace takes a 5% commission for Newbies and 3% for Pro member.
We do do not charge per transaction fees but the normal payment processor fees still apply.
If you accept payments with PayPal, there is also a payment processing fee based on their fee structure.
Listing fees are billed in USD, so if your bank’s currency is not USD, the amount may differ based on changes in the exchange rate.
Can I change plans or cancel my account later?
Absolutely. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your account at any time through your store’s admin area.
What do I need to do to create a store?
Create an account (if you don’t already have one).
Set your shop location and currency,
Choose a store name,
Create a shop banner (1000px x 220px) and listing
Set a payment method (how you want to be paid),
and finally set a billing method (how you want to pay our recurring fees)
How do I get paid?
If you accept payments with PayPal, funds from PayPal sales on Boutique Africaine will be deposited into your PayPal account.
We encourage sellers to use a PayPal Business account and not a Personal account, as personal accounts are subject to monthly receiving limits and cannot accept payments from buyers that are not funded by a credit card.
Do I need a credit or debit card to create a shop?
No. A credit or debit card is not required to create a shop. If you're a PRO member, you will not incur any charges until you open your shop and publish your listings.
When signing up or upgrading to a paid plan, you will link your PayPal account to be automatically billed annually.
Is the Basic plan really free?
Yep! It is and you can upload all your products for free at the same awesome features of our paid plans, we’ve tried to make our free Basic plan a great place to start your journey.
Can my product(s) be rejected?
Your items have to have a visible ethnic pattern or print on them.
Colorful African belts, jumpsuits made of Holland wax print, Ankara fabric or shoes with an ethnic Brazilian pattern are all good examples of products that are acceptable.
Your product will be rejected if they lack an African inspired, tribal or ethnic component.
